The Green Deadline: Why the One Big Beautiful Bill Demands Your Tax Attention Now
“It is in your moments of decision that your destiny is shaped. ”
― Anthony Robbins
The One Big Beautiful Act (OBBB) is now on the president’s desk, awaiting signature. By the time you’re reading this, it may already be law.
This 172,158-word tax bill has changed the landscape of US taxation for years to come.
Tax laws have been extended, created, and destroyed, and set to expire.
In most cases, it appears that the majority of tax laws do not contain strict deadlines that would prompt action now, with an exception: Clean Energy Credits.
This includes:
Electric Vehicle Credits
Energy Efficient Home Credits
Residential Clean Energy Credits
Many more
Credits like these are set to expire on September 30th, 2025.
That makes any investments of green energy purchased on or after October 1st, 2025, ineligible for the credit.
So if acquiring clean energy credits were part of your tax plan for 2025 and beyond, then you are going to need to consider whether to pull the trigger now, soon, or never.
Much more to come as we discover the nuances of this tax bill and how it affects taxpayers nationwide.
Stay smart,

P.S. Here’s an unrelated bad pun that I like, but it talks about bills so I wanted to share: A duck walks into a bar and orders two drinks. He says, “just put them on my bill.”
